They've traded genuine structural analysis for the politically comfortable narrative of managed transition. Individual MEPs raise displacement in committee hearings, but the institutional output frames this as a reskilling problem rather than a white-collar employment liquidation event. The Parliament is essentially solving for 'AI looks responsible' while studiously avoiding the question of what happens to European service-sector employment when 40% of knowledge work becomes automatable. This is the EU's institutional sweet spot: enough concern-signalling to appear serious, insufficient structural honesty to prepare anyone.
